Ride your bike. Eat pie. Ride home.
The annual pie ride is upon us. Be ready to ride on Saturday Oct 20th at 8 AM.
This 44 mile (22 miles each way) group ride covers rolling country terrain near the lower Connecticut River. The ride features an opportunity to enjoy a slice of thick, exceptional Apple Pie (or other baked goods) in Chester, CT at the Wheat Market, 4 Water Street.
This ride was started some years ago by Joe Damon. Beginning and ending in Marlborough, CT, you will enjoy riding past Lake Pocotopaug, the Goodspeed Opera House, a river crossing on an historic ferry, Gillette’s Castle, a covered bridge, one “real hill” and many quiet country roads.
Ride sheets (i.e. bike directions) will be available at the commuter lot on the south side of eastbound Route 2, Exit 12 (West St, Marlborough business route) in Marlborough, beginning at 8 am on October 20th.
