The Madison Jaycees would like to remind you to register for the 28th Annual Madison Triathlon to be held on September 08, 2012 at the Madison Surf Club. Participants will be able to pick up their race packet, EXCLUDING their timing chip, at the store to make check-in on Saturday morning easier. The Jaycees are saddened by the sudden passing of longtime friend and Triathlon Event Director Dave Parcells, and will work to ensure that the event continues to live up to his high standards. The Jaycees will also be holding a raffle at the Triathlon this year with proceeds benefiting The Dave Parcells Swim Fund for Cancer and MS. Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 finishers in each age group. The first male and first female overall will each receive $200 in prize money, $150 will be awarded to the second place overall finishers, and $100 for the two finishers in third place overall. INDIVIDUAL RACE DIVISIONS AND AWARDS: Ages 19 and under, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75+. TEAM COMPETITION AND AWARDS: All Male, All Female and Mixed Teams – Awards to each member of the top finishing team in each division. The first 14 years of the race was known as the Madison Relays with four legs, swimming, running, biking and canoeing. During 1999, the race was reformatted into a triathlon and triathlon relay. This new format resulted in a significant increase in the number of participants over the past 5 years and allowed the Jaycees to increase their support for local charities and youth sports programs.

We are looking forward to a 9th year under our new format and look forward to once again SELLING OUT. The race course along the Madison Shoreline is beautiful and the Surf Club is the perfect venue for such a race. (Please be aware that dogs are not permitted at the Surf Club, per Town regulations). We are confident that you will enjoy the experience and want to come back next year.
