Yoga for Athletes at Newington Yoga Center

Cross training with yoga can build strength, flexibility, and endurance. Yoga also helps athletes develop better breathing technique, improve core strength and balance.
Athletes find repetitive motion physically and mentally beneficial, but this can take a toll on muscles, joints, bones and ligaments. Some sports may strengthen one side of the body over another, eventually creating imbalances or even injury. For example, running creates strong legs but can also result in tight hips, or shin splints.
Yoga both counters imbalances and helps improve performance. We will help you strengthen and lengthen your tight and overworked muscles and expand your range of motion.

Newington Yoga Center Class Card - discounted for HEAT membersHEAT members receive a $30 discount on a 10-class card.
Class cards can be used for the Yoga for Athletes class, and most other classes at Newington Yoga Center.

The Scrambles are the perennial, summer highlight of Thursday nights in downtown Hartford – and with good reason – they are a blast!  They will all be slightly different, a little zany, but lots of fun.   We change up the courses, always around a 5K distance, but you won’t know what you are running until the start.  After the run, we’ll provide good eats, pour cold Harpoon beer and give you a live music concert under the stars on the Riverfront. All Scrambles Start:  6:30 p.m.  Note later start time (we’ve made it later than past years so you don’t have to scramble to get to the Scramble after work), Mortensen Riverfront Plaza, Hartford
