HEAT Group Zwift Ride – All Levels
March 16, 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Event Navigation
Returning for winter 2023, ride with fellow HEATsters in Zwift. The weekly meetup rides will be set to keep everyone together, so don’t worry about being left behind. These rides are for all levels from beginner to zwift pro.
To participate in the meetups, you will need the following:
Zwift
This is the actual program you will be using for cycling. You can install it on a laptop, smartphone, or Apple TV. And you will need a smart trainer or a speed & cadence sensor to connect your bicycle to Zwift.
Zwift Companion App
This app is to find other users, accept meetup requests, and for text chat in game. Download the app on your smartphone, then sign in with your Zwift account. Please search for and follow “Chris Eckett (Sonic/HEAT)” to receive meetup invites.
Discord
This app is for voice chat during the event (optional, but fun). You will need to download the app to a smartphone or laptop, create a profile, and join the HEAT Discord server, which can be found here: https://discord.gg/MpHDgGsVcP
Tips:
- Please search for and follow “Chris Eckett (Sonic/HEAT)” in Zwift to receive meetup invites.
- Be sure to “accept” the meetup invites in the Zwift Companion app.
- Please use a road bike for your in game avatar in Zwift. This can be changed in Zwift. When you are stopped, hit the “menu” button, select the garage icon, then bike icon. In game road bikes are better for meetups (it doesn’t matter what you’re actually riding on your trainer).
- Please add “(HEAT)” to your username, this can be updated in the Zwift Companion app. It can be added to your last name. This makes it easier for event organizers to send you meetup invites and will help us in the future.
- It can take a few minutes for Zwift to update and load, if there’s a new software update (which happens a lot), so please be sure to login 5-10 minutes before the ride start time.
