Hello HEAT!

Happy February HEATsters!! One month down! With any luck, only 2 more to go before we start having some warm spells and have some decent weather to get outdoors.

HEAT Logo

Last month we sent out a poll looking for a vote on a new HEAT logo.  Thank you for everyone who put in their vote and added suggestions.  The torch logo received the fewest votes and was taken out of the running.

The poll linked on the members only page is for the remaining two logos compared to the current HEAT logo.  Colors have been added for continuity and a better comparison but are not finalized.  Please choose your favorite.  The winner of this poll will be taken to the drawing board for color.

Voting ends February 12 at midnight!

New Member Benefits

Over the past month, we have added the following benefits on the Members Only page.  Please check here for the full list of discounts and benefits.  That member fee can EASILY pay for itself many times over!

  • 10% off Pat Griskus & Hopkins Vineyard Tri
  • $5 off HMF Litchfield Hills, Niantic Bay, & Women’s Tri
  • 25% off Roka products

Sponsor Events

Indoor Cycling at Newington Bicycle (separate from the HEAT program)
Wednesdays at 6 p.m.
Saturdays at 8 a.m.

Bring your bike, water and a towel: we provide everything else.  Classes are a 60-75 minute structured workout led by cyclists!  Unlike spin classes at the gym, these classes allow you to train on your own bike and always have a cycling focus– great training for Spring races! $10.00 drop in. Weekly now through March 14th.  All classes held at Newington Bicycle.

Women’s Spring Clinics at Newington Bicycle

These educational clinics kick off several different training groups that we’ll have running throughout the Spring/Summer for 2018 (metric century, mountain biking and triathlon). Join us at the clinic for information about that discipline, helpful training tips as well as group ride/event schedules! All clinics held at Newington Bicycle.

3/20, 6-8pm: Women’s Metric Century Training/Road Riding Clinic

4/3, 6-8pm: Women’s Mountain Bike Clinic (In store, educational)

4/27, 6-8pm: Women’s Intro to Triathlon Clinic

With all of this going on, it’s hard to even have time to think about it being cold out!!  Stay warm, keep thinking warm thoughts, and we’ll see you soon!!

My regards,

Kurt Lindboom-Broberg
